Public Awareness Drives


eMed IN COLLABORATION WITH PINK RIBBON ORGANIZATION & HEC PAKISTAN ORGANIZED “BREAST CANCER AWARENESS SESSION” IN GC WOMEN UNIVERSITY FAISALABAD.

FAMOUS ONCOLOGIST, DR SYED IJAZ HUSSAIN DELIVERED AN AWARENESS LECTURE TO MORE THAN 500 STUDENTS ON PREVENTION OF BREAST CANCER. MASTER TRAINERS GROUP TO BE TRAINED BY DR HUMAIRA ARSHAD ON SELF EXAMINATION. Continuing with their best efforts for creating health education in Pakistan, eMed’s Dr Syed Ijaz Hussain, Dr Khurram Raja, Dr Humaira Arshad, Dr Khawar Nadeem & eMed team of students from 2nd year Pujab Medical College, held a massive and very effective awareness session on Breast Cancer’s treatment & prevention, for the staff and students of GC Women University Faisalabad, on Tuesday, 8.12.2015.Session was held on the request of VC of the University Mrs Noreen Aziz Qureshi & Home Economics & Food Department of the university & in collaboration with Pink Ribbon Organization & HEC Pakistan. Session started with an awareness walk arranged by the university students and was led by the guests, staff and students. Chief Guest of the event was Member Parliament, MPA Mrs Dr Najma Afzal who, in her opening address introduced 1st Breast Cancer Awareness Clinic, building in Allied Hospital Faisalabad, due to her efforts. Dr Khurram Raja introduced eMed & speakers of eMed for the occasion. He offered VC & other staff members to make a group of teachers & students which will be trained as Master Trainers in Punjab Medical College by Dr Humaira Arashad & then a program on training on self-examination of breasts can be run in the university. VC & other staff members appreciated the offer & accepted it. The key note speaker was the famous Oncologist & eMed doctor, Dr Syed Ijaz Hussain who gave the sign symptoms, diagnosis, treatment & prevention of breast cancer. Associate Professor Dr Humaira Arshad explained the self-examination of breasts by the females. She also introduced e-Women & Rescue 1213 services in Faisalabad. Head of Biochemistry Department University of Agriculture, Dr Khalil ur Rehman gave the research aspect of Breast Cancer while Dr Shahid Mehmood from Sargodha University presented the role of diet in Breast Cancer. Dr Ijaz Hussain had a question-answer session which was followed by concluding remarks from, VC GCWUF, Mrs Noreen Aziz Qureshi who thanked the guests and speakers for giving such a valuable and precious piece of awareness to the students. She said that students will spread the message and in that way, a good process will go on. She desired to continue working with eMed in shape of training of the master trainers, research projects & further health awareness sessions.
